TWBlue

TWBlue is an open-source Twitter client for Windows developed by Manuel Eduardo Cortéz Vallejo and José Manuel Delicado Alcolea, two Mexican blind people. It has been made to provide more access to Twitter for blind and visually impaired users. I've contributed to this project being part of the Romanian translation team along with other friends.

NVDA

NVDA is an open-source screen-reader for Windows powered by NV Access (Nonvisual Desktop Access), a charity Australian Organization founded by James Teh and Michael Curran, two blind programmers. I've been a member in the NVDA's Romanian translation team since July 2016.

Poedit

Poedit is an open-source .po file editor for Windows, Mac and Linux. But what are .po files? They are files used in software translation. I occasionally contribute to the Romanian translation of this project.

Be My Eyes

This is an application for Android and IOS that wants to ease life of blind people. If your screen -reader is not working and you want to know what's displayed on the screen, call a Be My Eyes volunteer. Don't you know what is the color of an object? Call a sighted volunteer and he/she will answer your question. If you're on the road and you don't know how to reach the destination, call a volunteer and he/she will guide you. He/she is able to see what's happening around you through your phone's camera. The app updates constantly bringing up new features and bug fixing. I've been occasionally contributing to the Romanian translation for the IOS interface since March 2018.

Cash Reader

It's an app for IOS and Android that reads money for blind users. Put up a banknote to your phone's camera and it will be spoken via VoiceOver and vibrations. It's powered by Tomas Jelinek and Martin Doudera, two Czech people. I'm translating this app into Italian.

Telegram

It's a messaging app like WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat, Google Hangouts and Facebook Messenger. People like it for its security, for its cloud storage and for a large number of options it provides for the management of a group or a channel.
I joined the translators community on 26 January 2020. I occasionally contribute to the Romanian translation. Everyone can become a translator. Further details can be found here.

Switching from JAWS to NVDA

On 16th August 2020, AMAIS (Asociația Metodelor Alternative de Integrare Socială) (Association of Alternative Methods of Social Integration) organized an online workshop, whose aim was to help those who wanted to explore NVDA (Nonvisual Desktop Access), the screen reader of NV Access, so they easily can switch to it from JAWS (Job Access With Speech), the screen reader of Freedom Scientific. Me and Paul Bogorin were the trainers, therefore our role was to help the participants explore NVDA and discover the diferences between it and JAWS.
Firstly, we briefly presented the history of the two screen readers, then continued with the pros and cons of each program. In terms of the differences between the two programs, we talked about the keystrokes, the object navigation of NVDA and the JAWS cursor. After that, we guided them through the NVDA settings, talked to them a bit about NVDA add-ons and taught them how to install the add-ons, and finally recommended external sources from which they could get additional information.
The workshop was organized through the CMU Tech project, through which AMAIS also organizes activities such as programming courses for the visually impaired. CMU Tech is part of the CMU project (Club de Mobilitate Urbană) (Mobility Urban Club), through which the Association organizes activities that help the blind people become more independent, including the use of the white cane and cooking. You can find out further information on their website and on their Facebook pages Club de Mobilitate Urbană Senseability and AMAIS.

Radio Goldplay's website

Goldplay is an internet radio station. Its aim is to be a strong energy source for its listeners. THIS IS THE 1ST RADIO ON THE INTERNET! It's owned by Cătălin Dorobanțu (Goldplay Media Network). I managed its website between 10th November 2021 and 16th April 2022 for a small price I won't mention here, as I didn't for the owner's permission.

Legidiz

This website is my Computer science post-secondary school graduation project. It's an accessible resource of the Romanian acts (lows, government decrees, government emergency decrees, government decisions, and ministers/autorithies/institutions orders) that talk about the rights of the persons with disabilities.

My bachelor's thesis

I've gratuated on 27th Jun 2023. Though this paper was written into Romanian, its summary was translated both into English and Italian.
